An article about the artist David Reeb and the recent turmoil surrounding his name, after his creation “Jerusalem” had caused political controversy, was published recently in ‘Arutz Sheva News’. The painting was to be displayed at the exhibition of the Ramat Gan Museum of Israeli Art but was eventually removed due to public pressure.
The financial strategist and art collector, Ofer Levin Austria, was quoted in the article: “David Reeb is no doubt deeply involved in Israeli politics and society. It is true that a majority of his paintings are dedicated to figurative, somewhat crude, post-photographic renditions of Palestinian resistance juxtaposed with life in Tel Aviv”.
